Today we lost our Grandfather Gabe, his favorite cookie was my grandma's painted sugar cookies. So in honor of his memory, our class made painted Halloween & Thanksgiving cookies. These cookies were a hit, I should added a little more sugar, but overall they came out great! Go ahead and make some at home! What you will need: Ingredients
Bake 350 for 3-4 mins for soft & fluffy or bake longer for that CRUNCH! 1) Mix your sugar and butter together 2) in a separate bowl mix your dry ingredients together 3) Mix in your wet ingredients into your butter/sugar mixture 4) Add your dry ingredients into your sugar mixture 5) Cover with saranwrap and refrigerate for 1-2 hours 6) in bowls or small dixie cups, add half of an egg yolk and 3-4 drops of food coloring, mix well. (repeat this for each food coloring you will be using) Once your dough has set, pull it out and start rolling, roll out to about 1/2cm or 1cm thick, use cooking cutters to cut your shape. We use cookie cutters with stamps, this is great for the kids to learn how to color in the lines. And that's it! Super fun and easy! Let me know if you try it and how it comes out.
