Today we lost our Grandfather Gabe, his favorite cookie was my grandma's painted sugar cookies. So in honor of his memory, our class made painted Halloween & Thanksgiving cookies. These cookies were a hit, I should added a little more sugar, but overall they came out great! Go ahead and make some at home!

What you will need:
Ingredients
  • 2 1/2 cups All Purpose Flour
  • 2 cups White Sugar
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 14 Tablespoons Unsalted Butter softened
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Sea Salt
  • 2 teaspoons Pure Vanilla Extract
  • Small tip paint brushes and toothpicks (optional)
  • Egg yolks and food coloring

Bake 350 for 3-4 mins for soft & fluffy or bake longer for that CRUNCH!

1) Mix your sugar and butter together
2) in a separate bowl mix your dry ingredients together
3) Mix in your wet ingredients into your butter/sugar mixture
4) Add your dry ingredients into your sugar mixture
5) Cover with saranwrap and refrigerate for 1-2 hours
6) in bowls or small dixie cups, add half of an egg yolk and 3-4 drops of food coloring, mix well. (repeat this for each food coloring you will be using)

Once your dough has set, pull it out and start rolling, roll out to about 1/2cm or 1cm thick, use cooking cutters to cut your shape. We use cookie cutters with stamps, this is great for the kids to learn how to color in the lines.
And that's it! Super fun and easy! Let me know if you try it and how it comes out.

Hello, I'm Jackie, the CIRCUL KC lead teacher! I have 2 daughters', Senturi 18 and Catalina 11. Senturi is currently attending UCM to obtain her bachelor's in nursing, Catalina is homeschooled and will be my assistant during our classes. Catalina is the founder of CIRCULKC, she has been featured on many news outlets, Highlights Magazine (Dec 2024), several blogs and on the new hit reality tv show "My Perfect Day" streaming on Very Local hosted by Womens Day Magazine. I am married to an amazing man, Ryan, who works at the Kansas City's National Nuclear Security Campus. We have a wonderful, kid loving, 7 year old Rottie named Bad Girl. Bad girl will be in her bedroom during class hours but sometimes she likes to join our students and hangout. Rest assure, she loves kids, she may not like you, but she will love and protect your kiddos with her life. We have a bunny named “FAT Daddy”, he is not good with kids and hates just about everyone. We have 5 hens our science class incubated and care for. I am so excited to welcome your children into our home.  Our classes are held at our home in Raytown, we use to use the libary however the fee's became to much for us. Now the possibilities are endless, we have so more room to get creative and learn through experiences! if you have any questions, please contact me
